A good partnership between a caravan manufacturer and a caravan dealer has plenty of SYNERGY:-ie both benefit from the relationship. Good Dealers only sell good products, so when the opportunity to become a Coromal Dealer arose Alan Bell jumped at it.

July 1st 2000 saw the start of the new Dealership,within 2 years,their first award for "MOST IMPROVED DEALER OF THE YEAR 2002" came along, since there have been many awards,including "Highest Sales Achievements 2005" in both "CAMPERS" and "POP TOPS" in Australia. Awarded "SERVICE DEALER OF THE YEAR 2007"and "SERVICE DEALER OF THE YEAR 2008"

Alan Bell's Story

Alan started in the industry in 1973 in Gosford NSW, servicing and repairing caravans around the district.In 1989 Alan relocated his family to Coffs Harbour NSW,and commenced a new caravan repair business--ABCO Caravan Services was established,steadily growing over the next 7 years to become the largest repair centre in country NSW.In 1996 Alan sold the business to the present owners,who carry it on to this day.

Alan took up a position with Regent Caravans in Victoria as Service and Warranty Manager,and later as,and in addition Production Manager of the Monarch Crusader Range of caravans and pop tops,after 3 years it was time to move on.

In December of 1999, Alan established CARAVANS WEST in Sunshine as an independent Dealer/Repair Facility,the rest is history,growing in size and turnover to become COROMAL's third largest distributor in Australia by 2007, and the largest Distibutor in the Eastern states of Australia.

Spencer Kelly joined the business in 2001, initially employed in the workshop,then later progressing to Sales Manager. Spencer's working career has seen him spend over 22 years in caravan construction, both in the UK and Australia, for various firms,and the last 5 years in caravan sales.

Alan's son Brett joined the business in 1999 and now is Part Owner/Manager of the expanded Workshop Facility ,now known as MELBOURNE CARAVAN REPAIRS, located at Door 2/1 Berkshire Rd, Sunshine North (ph: 03 9311 7163).

These combined businesses now employ 8 fulltime staff and 2 part time employees.  Barry Carrington joined the business in 2007 and fulfils the role of Full-Time Sales Predelivery & Handover Specialist.  Jason Parker joined the business in 2005 as a specialist Detailer/Handover person, progressed to workshop technician and is also having some success in Part-Time Sales.  Janette De Losa joined the business in May 2006 as a full-time Spare Parts/Purchasing Manager. Leah Cook joined the business in February 2007 as Accounts Executive.  Roger Durbridge also joined the business in 2007 as a Specialist Technician on a Part-Time basis.

The Future looks bright for CARAVANS WEST, with a product in COROMAL CARAVANS, and a strong and loyal team to serve their new and regular customers.
